Michelle Stovall, DDS, pediatric dentist, enjoys helping families develop good dental habits early in life, positively shaping a child’s dental experience. She sees that every child is unique, and enjoys finding creative ways to reach each patient, caring for their dental needs with patience, understanding and compassion. As a child with “very crooked teeth,” as she described them, she became interested in the study of dentistry at a very young age. She sees the best part of her job as helping children and parents become more comfortable in the dental setting by educating them on what to expect and answering any questions they may have.
As a pediatric dentist, Dr. Stovall has two extra years of training that qualify her to practice pediatric dentistry. This specialized educational program equipped her with tools to handle the requirements of infants, children and adolescents, including those with special health care needs.
Dr. Stovall began her extensive education at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Sociology while taking pre-requisite courses for dental school. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Howard University College of Dentistry. Upon graduating, Dr. Stovall spent a year at Columbia University and a year at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx, NY, respectively earning an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Certificate and a General Practice Residency Certificate. Desiring to provide dental care primarily for children, she returned to Howard University and earned a Pediatric Dental Certificate.
Dr. Stovall is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and maintains memberships in the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, several local dental societies in Maryland including Cambridge’s Who’s Who, and the Delta Phi Sigma Dental Sorority.
